‘Eat to Live’ is a revolutionary diet program aimed at helping those who are suffering from obesity or are extremely overweight. Written by Joel Fuhrman M.D., an expert in treating obesity and related conditions, this diet is backed by 100% evidence-based science and is endorsed by medical professionals from around the world. The ‘Eat to Live’ diet does exactly what it says on the tin – dieters can use the diet to take drastic action to prevent the onset of obesity related conditions (such as heart disease and diabetes). If you are serious about losing weight quickly in order to protect your health, and you are willing to make some serious sacrifices along the way, this could well be the diet plan for you.
Although ‘Eat to Live’ is all about eating a healthy, wholesome, balanced diet, and certainly doesn’t involve any diet pills or supplements, as whole it’s fair to say the diet is pretty extreme. Although the designers of the eat to live plan are careful to say that dieters won’t ever feel hungry whilst following this plan (because the diet incorporates a number of healthy snacks intended to combat hunger and reduce cravings for bad foods), ‘Eat to Live’ does involve quite a lot of ‘giving up’. This, according to Dr. Fuhrman, is expected, especially seeing as this plan caters in particular towards those who are extremely overweight. By providing dieters with all of the tools needed in order to lose 20lbs in the first 6 weeks of the diet (if not more, depending on the start weight of the dieter), and fight off long-term illness, Dr. Fuhrman feels a certain degree of deprivation is acceptable.
One of the key elements of the ‘Eat to Live’ diet is the wealth of meal plans and recipes available for dieters to choose from. ‘Eat to Live’ prides itself on not being an ‘all or nothing plan’, meaning dieters can adapt the meal plans to suit their needs (substituting ingredients for similar alternatives where necessary). Although the book provides a full six weeks of meal plans, recipes and snack ideas, dieters are encouraged to continue with the diet beyond six weeks (if they need to) by mixing the meal plans up, changing ingredient combinations and generally ‘dipping’ in and out of the book to cook the foods they enjoy. At the same time, however, dieters are encouraged to maintain variety and balance – a key element of the ‘Eat to Live’ diet. With both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meal plans to choose from, dieters can enjoy high-quality, great tasting, healthy food in the knowledge that it’s helping them lose weight too – great stuff!
Although the ‘Eat to Live’ diet may, for some, be a little extreme, we feel it has a well-earned place in our top ten in this category. With the promise of more than 20lbs weight loss in just six weeks, it’s not surprising that this diet involves giving up a few treats, but all in all, ‘Eat to Live’ manages to provide a balance between eating good food and losing weight.
